Vale Jim Molan AO, DSC
Jim Molan AO, DSC was a person I was proud to call a friend and colleague who dedicated his life to our country.
Jim made great sacrifices as part of his service through his work as a soldier serving in the Australian Army for 40 years retiring at the rank of Major General and later as a Senator for New South Wales.
He made an enormous contribution to the NSW Liberal Party and I am proud to have worked alongside Jim on important reforms to democratise our party – work we must continue in his honour.
It was a privilege to work closely with Jim on issues that matter across regional NSW and Eden Monaro and on a range of policy areas including his focus on a national security strategy which I encouraged as Minister for Cyber Security.
Jim was a man you could trust. He was genuine, upfront and honest – one of our nation’s finest.
We have lost an outstanding Australian.
My thoughts are with his family – wife Anne, four adult children Erin, Felicity, Mick and Sarah and their families.
Rest in peace, Jim. We’ll miss you mate.
