Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has welcomed confirmation that Liberal MP Russell Matheson will be nominating for Liberal Party preselection for Macarthur. Mr Taylor has praised Mr Matheson’s proven record on behalf of Macarthur residents.

“Russ has been a terrific voice in parliament for local residents. He has my strongest support. If we are both re-elected, I look forward to working closely with him during the next term of government,” Mr Taylor said.

He said Federal electoral boundary changes would impact a number of regional seats.

“If re-elected, I will be trying to ensure a smooth transition for residents in the new seat of Hume.

“I will continue to be a relentless campaigner for strong infrastructure spending in the region – particularly transport and telecommunications investment.

“This area is the fast growing gateway into southern Sydney and the Federal government has pledged enormous commitment to its growth.”

Mr Taylor also welcomed an announcement of support from State MP Jai Rowell.

“Jai and I have had a very effective working relationship, focused on the people of Wollondilly. The friendship we have developed as fellow parliamentarians will continue to serve Wollondilly well.”
