Taylor: full steam ahead at Thirlmere this weekend
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor is encouraging Wollondilly Shire residents to fill out his new ‘supersized survey’ at his stall at the Thirlmere Steam Festival this Sunday.
Mr Taylor said the festival is an iconic event which draws a crowd of thousands to the town.
“It is a great day out, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to catch up with as many Wollondilly residents as I can while there,” he said.
“I regularly hold a stall at local shows and big community events like this. My stall is a meeting point for constituents to say hello and raise any issues that are of concern to them,
“I’m particularly looking forward to unveiling my new supersize survey at the stall, where I’ll be asking everyone to place a sticker against the top three Federal issues that are most important to them.”
Mr Taylor said there is a great amount of activity going on right now at Thirlmere, and right across Wollondilly with the NBN rollout and the switching-on of the first of four new mobile base stations for the Wollondilly shire.
“It was terrific to announce this week a new mobile base station at Werombi has been switched on, under the first round of new towers announced under the Government’s Mobile Black Spot Programme,”
“On the NBN, I’m aware a number of community meetings have been held by NBN Co in Wollondilly recently as they prepare to rollout fibre and build several new NBN fixed wireless towers across the shire, bringing superfast broadband to the entire area.”
Mr Taylor said his street stall will be located on Barbour Road, Thirlmere and he’ll be there from 9.30am until about 2pm this Sunday 6 March.
