See you at the 2016 Camden Show

Thursday, 10 March 2016

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor will be at the 130th annual Camden Show this Friday and Saturday hoping to meet as many new constituents as possible following the electoral boundary changes.

Mr Taylor, a Patron of the Show, will have an information stall with maps of the new Hume boundaries which take in most of the Camden Local Government Area.

Hume now includes Cobbitty, Camden, Narellan, Mt Annan, Spring Farm, Grasmere, Elderslie, Wallacia, Luddenham, Douglas Park, Menangle, Appin and some of Bringelly and Oran Park.

“It’s a privilege to be given the opportunity to be the Liberal candidate for these new areas of Hume in the lead up to this year’s election,” Mr Taylor said.

“I always look forward to attending the Camden Show because of its comprehensive programme of events and displays, atmosphere and people.

“It’s promoted as ‘still a country show’ and I would vouch it’s one of the best country shows in the state, if not Australia.

“Being raised on a sheep and cattle property in southern NSW, and living on a farm, I appreciate the event’s sheep and wool heritage. It’s an honour to be patron of an event that so fittingly celebrates the nation-defining agricultural history of the district.”

Mr Taylor encouraged all showgoers to say g’day at his stall in Office Lane (near the Show Office) from 11am to 2pm over the Friday and Saturday.

“This will be my first real opportunity since the boundaries were formalised last month to meet new Hume constituents, to introduce myself, to hear their concerns,” he said.

“Importantly, my stall will have maps of new boundaries to help answer any questions. Meantime, if any new constituents have any matters they would like to raise, they can contact me by email angus.taylor.mp@aph.gov.au or phone (02) 4822 2277.”
