Round Three of National Stronger Regions Fund Now Open

Monday, 18 January 2016

Following the success of the first two rounds of the National Stronger Regions Fund, Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has announced the third round is now open for applications.

“The Coalition Government is investing big time in regional infrastructure as a sure-fire way of stimulating jobs and investment,” Mr Taylor said.

“We have $19.5million of investment already committed for Hume under the first two rounds of the National Stronger Regions Fund; funding toward a water treatment plant and performing arts centre for Goulburn, a water pipeline from Yass to Murrumbateman, and funding for a major upgrade of the Cunningar Rail siding near Harden Murrumburrah.”

“This investment is supporting the enormous growth we’re experiencing in Hume as we see thousands of people move out of Sydney and Canberra. We need infrastructure investment to support this growth, and that is exactly what this government is doing,” Mr Taylor said.

Mr Taylor said the National Stronger Regions Fund is a $1 billion commitment from the Coalition Government over 5 years to promote economic development throughout regional Australia.

“I know of many great development proposals across the electorate and would encourage anyone interested in submitting an application under this next round to contact my office.”
