Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has called on young people in the Hume electorate to nominate as a youth delegate for Australia at the Youth 20 Summit in Sydney this year.

“I warmly encourage young people in Hume, aged between 18 and 30, who have a passion for global social and economic issues to nominate for the Y20 Summit which will be held in Sydney in July.

“The Y20 Summit is the premier youth forum associated with the G20 event and is designed for delegates to make their voices heard on pressing global economic challenges including growth, youth unemployment and sustainable economic development.

“The Summit will involve important policy discussion and consultation with youth representatives from the G20 member states. Outcomes from the Summit will then be presented to leaders at the November G20 meeting in Brisbane.

“My call for nominations presents an excellent opportunity for engaged and enthusiastic individuals to nominate for the chance to represent Australia and make a contribution on issues which are of great significance for future generations,” he said.

Nominations to be one of five Australian delegates selected for the Summit opened on the 28th January and will close on the 21st February. Further information on the selection process or Australia’s role with the Y20 can be found at www.y20australia.com or by phoning 1300 857 536.
