The Wollondilly, Wingecarribee, Goulburn Mulwaree and Upper Lachlan Shire areas are benefitting from one of the biggest infrastructure investment programmes in Australia’s history.

Member for Hume Angus Taylor said the Budget confirmed the four councils will receive millions through initiatives such as the Bridges Renewal Programme, Road Black Spot Programme, and National Stronger Regions Fund.

“Big, big dollars are being invested in this part of Hume because we recognise that safe, reliable and modern infrastructure ignites economic activity and jobs growth,” Mr Taylor said.

Wollondilly and Wingecarribee shires will receive funding for the following road black spots:

§  $970,000 for safety works on the Hume Highway between Moolgun Creek Bridge and Douglas Park Bridge at Douglas Park

They will also share in $3.69 million in Roads To Recovery funding in 2016/17.

Under the $1 billion National Stronger Regions Fund, the Budget has confirmed the $10 million for Goulburn Mulwaree Council’s Wastewater Treatment Plan – with $5 million allocated for 2016/17, while Wingecarribee Shire Council will receive $4.6 million for its Moss Vale Enterprise Corridor project.
