Liberals commit to upgrade Appin and Telopea Parks
An elected Dutton Liberal Government has committed to delivering $250,000 for lighting upgrades at Appin Park and Telopea Park in Buxton.
A further $320,000 has been committed to by the Liberals to upgrade access and amenities at Telopea Park.
Telopea Park is home to the Rural Fire Service Fire Truck Memorial Playground which was built in honour of Geoffrey Keaton and Andrew O’Dwyer who lost their lives in the 2019 Green Wattle Creek Bushfire.
The upgrade will include the provision of safe access point to the facilities at the park.
Shadow Treasurer and Federal Member for Hume, Angus Taylor, said how welcome both commitments are in the Wollondilly Shire.
“These new lights will improve security and reduce vandalism at both parks.
“Appin Park serves an important role in our community as home to Appin War Memorial Inc, the Appin Historical Society, and the Appin Touch Football Association.
“We are committed to making the Wollondilly Shire an even better place to live, work and raise a family,” Mr Taylor said.
These commitments are part of the Liberals’ plan to strengthen our local communities and to get Australia back on track.
