From Wollondilly Anglican College, Year 10 student Jamieson Bell was presented with the award at the school presentation evening on Wed 9 December.

In presenting the awards Mr Taylor said:  “Australia’s prosperity rests upon our ability to use science and maths skills to innovate. I myself was a keen maths student at school and went on to have a great business career based on applied mathematics and economics. I am very proud to be introducing this inaugural STEM award, a perpetual award, into a number of schools in Hume. Recipients have been nominated by the school as someone who has excelled in a STEM-related discipline. Focusing on STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths -  is a priority for the Government, because the jobs of the future are in these areas. Congratulations to these worthy winners.”
