Honour to continue serving in Turnbull ministry
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor says it will be an honour to continue serving in the Turnbull Ministry as Assistant Minister for Cities and Digital Transformation. “I am delighted to be re-appointed to oversee these two important portfolio areas – cities and digital transformation.
“I am humbled to be a continuing member of the ministry and appreciate the enormous privilege it is to have this responsibility.
“I will continue to work very hard to achieve positive reform. New City Deals, including a Western Sydney city deal which will involve the north of Hume, will be vitally important for reducing congestion, creating more local jobs, ensuring housing is affordable, and investing in infrastructure.
“It is a strong focus of mine to help government spend its money more efficiently, particularly in relation to digital services. We as custodians of taxpayers’ money have to invest that money with great responsibility. We have to be constantly striving for ways to contain the growth in government spending.
“In my electorate and in my areas of national responsibility I will be working hard to keep the community’s trust.
“I got into politics for what I believe are the right reasons. I’ve sought to work with communities and stakeholders in a way that’s transparent and upfront. I look forward to the coming period of service with a sense of great pride.”
