Giving back to our volunteers
Hundreds of Hume volunteers from 12 community groups will benefit from funding under the latest round of the Australian Government Volunteer Grants program.
Member for Hume Angus Taylor said almost $44,000 in grants will be distributed to help the local organisations with equipment purchases and costs associated with training and transport.
“The great thing about these grants is that they’re distributed to a wide variety of volunteer groups, from helping the Goulburn Pony Club with landscaping costs, to assisting Gunning District Association with computer equipment and training expenses,” Mr Taylor said.
Twelve Hume community groups comprising more than 500 volunteers will receive funding under the latest round totalling $43,735. They are:

“Next week, from 8th May, is National Volunteer Week, when we acknowledge the important work of our volunteers and their organisations in building stronger communities.
“The energy, expertise and time our volunteers give to our communities supports those most in need and represents what Australian communities are all about – giving a helping hand.
“I’m glad to see that our local organisations will have this support to continue their valuable work.”
