Funding to help local Goulburn community remember those who served
The Australian Government will provide $12,000 to help preserve our Goulburn's wartime heritage as part of more than $800,000 in funding from the Saluting their Service (STS) Commemorative Grants Program.
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor said this program would provide funding for two local projects.
"The BDCU Goulburn Hospital Fundraising Inc will receive $2,000 for the installation of flagpoles at Goulburn Base Hospital, which will be a wonderful addition to the hospital redevelopment," Mr Taylor said.
"$10,000 will also be on the way for the repair and restoration of the Bungonia War Memorial to ensure the service and sacrifice of local veterans is recognised and remembered.
"We have a proud military history in this area, and in the lead up to Remembrance Day, these grants will continue to ensure we commemorate, preserve and honour the contribution of our local veterans who have served our nation and the families who supported them."
