Flood recovery assistance available for Goulburn Mulwaree
Residents of Goulburn Mulwaree impacted by the recent storms and flooding can now apply for financial support from the Australian Government.
The Australian Government Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA) is available to support people whose income has been affected in the Goulburn Mulwaree Local Government Area.
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor said parts of this region have been impacted by the severe flooding and storm damage and encouraged residents to lodge a claim for assistance.
“Goulburn Mulwaree is one of several areas across NSW and QLD that has experienced heavy rainfall and flash flooding in recent weeks and is now eligible for flood recovery assistance,” Mr Taylor said.
“The Disaster Recovery Allowance provides a short-term income support payment to assist individuals whose income has been affected by these types of events.
“The Allowance is available for up to 13 weeks, equivalent to the maximum rate of Jobseeker Payment or Youth Allowance.
“The easiest and fastest way to claim is over the phone, by calling the Australian Government Emergency Information Line on 180 22 66 from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Claims for DRA can be made to Services Australia from Tuesday 14 December 2021.
