Federal funding to replace Wingecarribee's Belanglo Road culvert

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has announced $202,500 in funding for Wingecarribee Shire Council under Round Two of the Government’s Bridges Renewal Programme.

“I’m pleased to share the outstanding news the Belanglo Road culvert will be replaced with a two lane culvert and improvements to road approaches as a result of the latest round of funding under the Bridges Renewal Programme,” Mr Taylor said.

“This is a terrific outcome for residents along the Belanglo Road as this particular section of road long been an issue for local residents, presenting an unsafe passage for motorists.”

Mr Taylor said five other bridges in neighbouring local government areas would also be receiving Federal funding, totalling over $3.7 million of infrastructure investment for Hume under this latest round. Other projects include;

- $1,526,000 for the replacement of Komungla Bridge in Goulburn Mulwaree Shire

- $425,000 for replacement of Blacks Bridge on Gambarra Rd, Greenethorpe in the Weddin Shire

- $723,000 for replacement of Dicks Creek Road Bridge at Nanima near Murrumbateman

- $419,000 for widening and increased capacity of the McHenrys Creek Bridge on Henry Lawson Way in the Young Shire

- $478,000 toward the replacement of the Bennett Springs Road Bridge in the Boorowa Shire
