Monday, 18 January 2016

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has announced $425,000 in funding for Weddin Shire Council under Round Two of the Government’s Bridges Renewal Programme.

“I’m pleased to share the outstanding news Blacks Bridge on Gambarra Road at Greenethorpe will be replaced with a two lane concrete and steel bridge as a result of the latest round of funding under the Bridges Renewal Programme,” Mr Taylor said.

“This is a terrific outcome for residents along the Gambarra Road as this particular section of road long been an issue for local residents and freight logistics for local primary producers.”

Mr Taylor said five other bridges in neighbouring local government areas would also be receiving Federal funding, totalling over $3.7 million of infrastructure investment for Hume under this latest round. Other projects include;

- $419,000 for widening and increased capacity of the McHenrys Creek Bridge on Henry Lawson Way in the Young Shire

- $478,000 toward the replacement of the Bennett Springs Road Bridge in the Boorowa Shire

- $202,500 for the replacement and improvements to the approach of the Belanglo Rd culvert in the Wingecarribee Shire

- $723,000 for replacement of Dicks Creek Road Bridge at Nanima near Murrumbateman
