Federal funding for Boorowa's Bennett Springs Rd Bridge
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has announced $478,000 in Federal funding for Boorowa Council under Round Two of the Government’s Bridges Renewal Programme.
“I’m pleased to share the outstanding news that Bennett Springs Road Bridge will finally be replaced with a two lane concrete bridge as a result of the latest round of funding under the Bridges Renewal Programme,” Mr Taylor said.
“This is a terrific outcome for residents along the Bennett Springs Road as this particular crossing has long been an issue for local residents, freight logistics for local primary producers and presenting an unsafe passage for the school bus run to both Boorowa and Cowra.”
Mr Taylor said five other bridges in neighbouring local government areas would also be receiving Federal funding, totalling over $3.7 million of infrastructure investment for Hume under this latest round. Other projects include;
- $425,000 for replacement of Blacks Bridge on Gambarra Rd at Greenethorpe in the Weddin Shire
- $419,000 for widening and increased capacity of the McHenrys Creek Bridge on Henry Lawson Way in the Young Shire
- $723,000 for replacement of Dicks Creek Road Bridge at Nanima near Murrumbateman
- $1,526,000 for the replacement of Komungla Bridge in Goulburn Mulwaree Shire
- $202,500 for the replacement and improvements to the approach of the Belanglo Rd culvert in the Wingecarribee Shire
