More Australians are trying to find a job as the Albanese Government’s chaotic handling of the economy imposes harsh new costs on households, families and businesses.

The November Labour Force figures show the unemployment rate increased to 3.9 per cent, with the participation rate jumping to 67.2% showing more Australian are looking for work.

The Labour Force figures follow the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook which confirmed the Albanese Labour Government is about big spending, big taxing and a big Australia.

Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor said: “The economy is shuddering to a halt.”

“This is not the economy we want going into Christmas. Households are hurting and now we see the employment market softening at a time when Australians really need every dollar they can to make ends meet.”

Shadow Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations Senator Michaelia Cash said: “We know that there will be many Australians who will face a very tough Christmas because of the decisions the Albanese Labour Government has made.”

“What is the Prime Minister and his Government doing to try to fix the cost-of-living crisis?’’ Senator Cash said.

“Unfortunately, this Government keeps doing things that will only make life more difficult for workers and businesses,’’ she said.

“Last week the Government rammed through the Parliament parts of its radical industrial relations laws which will substantially increase the burden and costs imposed on businesses using legitimate labour hire arrangements,’’ Senator Cash said.

“Attacking the country’s mining industry like this will do nothing to help the long-term future of our country or the long term employment prospects of many Australians,’’ Senator Cash said.

“The Albanese Government has no plan for lifting productivity in this country and the new industrial relations laws will only hurt productivity,’’ she said.

“The Albanese Government is only interested in looking after it’s union paymasters,’’ Senator Cash said.
