Anniversary Landcare grants for eight Hume projects
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has welcomed news of eight successful projects in Hume to receive 25th Anniversary Landcare Grants. Mr Taylor said he was pleased to announce funding for the following projects:
· Jerrawa Creek Landcare Group - Dalton / Oolong Creek Riparian Demonstration Project ($ 9,730.00)
· Roslyn Landcare Group - Linking and Rehabilitating Southern Tablelands Native Vegetation Corridors ($13,525.00)
· Upper Lachlan Catchment Coordinating Committee Incorporated - Lost River Healthy Farms Healthy Habitats ($14,000.00)
· Alloura - Re-vegetation of Erosion Gully at Headwaters of Spring Creek, Yass
· Small Bird Connections - Murrumbidgee to Dog Trap Road ($10,608.00)
· Binalong Landcare Sub Group Harden Murrumburrah Landcare - Binalong - Native Pasture and Alternative Fertilizer Study (Stage 3): Enhancement ($20,000.00)
· Echidna Hollow Farm - Conservation and Regenerative Agriculture Project ($13,500.00)
· Yass Urban Landcare Inc - Yass Gorge - Natural Temperate Grassland Rehabilitation ($14,300.00)
He said the grants were part of the Federal Government’s $2 billion investment over the next four years in managing natural resources and ensuring that Landcare is back at the centre of natural resource management.
“These grants are focused on engaging the community to deliver local projects which will have lasting benefits for the environment and productive agriculture,” Mr Taylor said.
