Funding available to support small community projects in Hume

Tuesday, 14 February 2023

Community organisations and local councils across Hume are invited to apply for grants between $2,500 and $20,000 for small-scale upgrades and new equipment under the latest round of the Stronger Communities Programme.

Member for Hume Angus Taylor said up to 20 local infrastructure projects would share in $150,000 of funding under round eight of the programme.

“In the past, this highly successful Coalition program has funded a range of great local infrastructure projects across our community including upgrades to local sporting grounds and clubs, men’s sheds and churches,” Mr Taylor said.

“I will be working closely again with a community consultative committee and this year we’re particularly keen to see projects that deliver a strong social benefit, such as projects by sporting and recreation clubs, community groups and volunteer emergency services.

“I strongly encourage interested organisations to complete an expression of interest form. This can be found on my website www.angustaylor.com.au or collected from my electorate offices in Camden and Goulburn.”

The funding will cover up to 100 per cent of eligible project costs or up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs for local governing bodies.

The Stronger Communities Programme was created by the Coalition Government and has provided more than $135 million for community-building and job-creating projects across Australia.
