Federal grants build stronger communities in Hume

Tuesday, 25 May 2021

A cool room trailer, BBQ facilities, soccer goal posts and equipment for a women’s shelter are just some of the exciting local community projects to receive funding in the latest round of the Coalition’s Stronger Communities Programme.

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor was pleased to announce the grants to many of the region’s sporting and community groups to upgrade facilities and equipment.

“Year after year, this program keeps delivering a much-needed boost for projects often run by volunteers and local community groups,” Mr Taylor said.

“Investing in community infrastructure is so important because we want to ease the financial pressure these organisations face so they can better focus on meeting the needs of our local community.”

“Fourteen community groups in the electorate will share in $150,000 under this round. It is the sixth year of the Stronger Communities Programme with $900,000 so far invested in Hume to help deliver dozens of local community infrastructure projects.”
