Gunning Arts to receive drought boost

Friday, 04 December 2020

The 2021 Gunning Arts Festival will receive Federal funding under the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal’s Tackling Tough Times Together program.

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor said the Foundation supports regional economies and strengthens social connections in drought-affected communities.

“Congratulations to the Gunning Arts Festival on receiving $6,925 to go towards planning for next year’s festival,” Mr Taylor said.

“Volunteers work tirelessly to bring together these events for small communities like Gunning, so I know they will appreciate this boost, particularly after the year we’ve had.”

“The Festival has a range of benefits for the community, flowing through to small business and suppliers, and as we recover from the pandemic, we must encourage and support these types of community events.”

The Federal Government has provided $1.2 million under the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal’s Tackling Tough Times Together program.

Mr Taylor is encouraging drought-affected community groups to apply for the ongoing funding available under the Tackling Tough Times Together program.
