2020 Budget: Additional $11 million for local roads and community infrastructure in Hume
Hume local councils will share in over $11 million in additional funding for local roads and community infrstructure projects.
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor said the Government would invest an additional $2 billion for a new road safety program which will support upgrades.
“Improving road safety in Hume is a core priority for the Government and that’s why this additional investment builds on the $500 million we are already delivering for targeted road safety works,” Mr Taylor said.
“Our community-led recovery plan empowers local councils to deliver roads and community infrastructure through an additional $1 billion for the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (LRCI).
“Hilltops Council will receive an extra $1,672,314. Funding will total $3,443,282 under the LRCI Program.”
“Upper Lachlan Shire Council will receive an extra $1,013,878. Funding will total $2,216,926.”
“Goulburn Mulwaree Council will receive an extra $1,534,951. Funding will total $2,609,835.”
“Wingecarribee Shire Council will receive an extra $2,133,512. Funding will total $3,317,553.”
“Wollondilly Shire Council will receive an extra $1,979,033. Funding will total $2,851,904.”
Camden Council will receive an extra $3,249,586. Funding will total $4,124,278.”
“This investment, together with the new Road Safety Program will support around 10,000 jobs over the life of the projects and I look forward to locals benefiting from the local jobs and business this investment brings.”
