Improved mobile coverage for Wayo
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has announced the switch on of a mobile base station at Wayo near Goulburn.
The new mobile base station on Woodhouselee Road at Wayo, funded under the Federal Government’s Mobile Black Spot Program, will significantly improve phone service for residents in the area.
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor said he was delighted to be switching on another new base station in Hume.
“As we all know connectivity is crucial and I’m pleased residents in this area will now have better phone service to make calls, access the internet and stay connected with family and friends,” Mr Taylor said.
“Mobile coverage at Wayo has been an issue for many years for residents and local emergency services and during my time as local member I have advocated strongly for improved coverage.”
“There will now be a strong Telstra 4G signal for mobile calls and data use for properties near the base station and along a section of Woodhouselee Road.”
An additional $160 million in new funding for rounds five and six of the program was announced in 2019 to continue to improve phone service for people in Australia’s regions.
