Rocky Hill Salutes Their Service
The new Rocky Hill War Memorial in Goulburn will create a digital honour roll to commemorate local military personnel thanks to a Saluting Their Service grant.
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor congratulated Rocky Hill who will receive $9,596 to commemorate those who served during the Second World War.
“This will be a fantastic addition to the new war memorial which opened to the public this month,” Mr Taylor said.
“The digital honour role, in addition to the museum will ensure that Goulburn’s service history is preserved for the local community.”
Rocky Hill Museums Coordinator Kerry Ross says the museum are thrilled to be receiving the funding under the Saluting Their Service grant program.
“The honour roll will substantially increase public understanding of the men and women from the Goulburn district who served during WW2. We look forward to its unveiling later in the year,” Mrs Ross said.
The Rocky Hill Memorial upgrade received $1.25 million from the Federal Government under the Building Better Regions Fund in 2018.
More than $2.2 million in funding was provided through this round of the Saluting Their Service commemorative grants program.
