The Coalition Government is hosting free Financial Information Services Seminars in Camden in September and October to help people plan for their financial future.

The seminars will cover a range of topics including preparing for retirement, investment options and superannuation.

Minister for Human Services Michael Keenan said anyone wanting to find out more about their age pension, how superannuation and shares work, or how to prepare for retirement, should take advantage of the seminars.

“These seminars are a great way for people to understand their own financial affairs and gain confidence dealing with financial matters,” Mr Keenan said.

“Last financial year, my Department hosted more than 3,000 seminars across the country which were attended by more than 92,000 people.”

Member for Hume Angus Taylor said the seminars were designed to help people of all ages, but bookings were essential.

“I encourage interested residents around Camden, particularly the elderly, to go along to these seminars. They’ll take place over coming weeks, hosted by the Department of Human Services.

“If you can’t make it to the seminars but need some help, you can phone 132 300 and ask to speak to a Financial Information Services Officer,” Mr Taylor said.
