TRN employs an extra 100 staff in five years

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor says the expansion of local businesses is proof the Coalition's infrastructure and small business focus is delivering for the local economy.

TRN has grown its business at Spring Farm by more than 100 staff in the past five years. They have expanded from 237 staff to now more than 354 staff, an increase of 49%.

“TRN is a big employer in the local area, a family-owned civil engineering and haulage company who, to their credit, have spent the past 50 years servicing this area,” said Mr Taylor.

“Their story highlights the kind of massive growth we are seeing locally. They have experienced growth along with the community. TRN has worked on most of the big developments in this area and has played an integral role in Camden’s expansion, literally from the ground up,” he said.

Camden Council is forecasting homes in the area will grow in number from 19,500 (2011) to 49,600 by 2026.

Director, General Manager Projects of TRN Group, Glenn Fordham, said local businesses would be jumping on board the further forecast growth.

“The opportunities are enormous. TRN has a terrific workforce who are mostly local. Luckily the majority of our work is also local, so our employees don’t need to travel far to work.”

Angus Taylor said the Federal Government was planning for the region’s future, investing in infrastructure, creating jobs and rewarding hard-working Australians.

“I will be working closely with all levels of government and the community to help guide the continuing growth that is on Camden’s doorstep.”
