A clear choice for Hume on July 2
There is a clear choice for Hume voters on 2 July: the Coalition’s economic plan for jobs, small business and families or Labor’s higher taxes and higher debt.
“These are distinctly different approaches: The Coalition is growing the pie, Labor is focused on how to divide the existing pie,” Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor said.
Hume residents are being asked to back Malcolm Turnbull’s plan for more prosperity and economic security.
“We have great opportunities in our regional communities to incentivise small businesses and create jobs. In the fast growing areas in the north of Hume, we recognise that strong infrastructure investment will stimulate growth. Now is not the time to risk Labor’s higher tax, higher spending, higher debt and deficit agenda. This will put all the jobs and growth at risk,” Mr Taylor said.
The Coalition’s economic plan will provide jobs and growth through:
- Tax cuts and incentives for small business and hard working families;
- An innovation and science programme for start-up businesses;
- Export trade deals to generate new business opportunities;
- A defence plan for hi-tech manufacturing and technology;
- A sustainable budget with crackdowns on tax avoidance and loopholes; and
- Guaranteed funding for health, education and roads.
“Last year, around Australia, 300,000 new jobs were created – the strongest jobs growth since 2007. In Hume, through the Government’s jobactive program, we have created more than 1270 local jobs since July last year.
“Every small business owner in Hume wants lower taxes, every small business owner wants to invest more in their business. We need to build on this momentum,” Mr Taylor said.
