Post box and parcel service for Canyonleigh
Canyonleigh now has a post box and parcel service operating at the Canyonleigh Country Store.
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor said he had made a strong case to Australia Post on behalf of residents.
“In my visits to Canyonleigh, residents made it very clear that having to travel to Moss Vale to post a letter or pick up a parcel was inconvenient and time consuming. As a result, I made contact with Australia Post and put the case for residents, specifically the value and convenience of a service for this community.
“I know that Member for Goulburn Pru Goward and Cr Ian Scandrett have also supported residents’ requests for a service.”
Mr Taylor said following his representations, Australia Post committed to look into service provision at Canyonleigh and agreed that things could be improved.
“After discussions with the owner of the Canyonleigh Country Store an agreement has been reached and a post box and parcel service are now operating at the store.
“This is a great outcome and I thank Australia Post for making this commitment to the community,” Mr Taylor said.
Canyonleigh Country Store owner Julie Chamouille who operates the post box and parcel service has welcomed the facility.
“I’d like to thank Angus Taylor for helping fix the problem and am very pleased Australia Post is providing these services which the community has been asking for.
“I know that residents are thrilled about the post box and that the store is now operating as a postal agent, saving the trip to Moss Vale,” she said.
“An additional benefit for the store is that it is bringing people in, but is also good for the community keeping in touch and connecting.”
