Wollondilly forum with Small Business Minister Bruce Billson
The public and business community are invited to a forum with Small Business Minister Bruce Billson and Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor in Picton.
Minister Billson and Mr Taylor will address the Wollondilly Shire Council Community Forum at 6:30pm on Tuesday June 9 at Wollondilly Shire Council chambers in Menangle Street, Picton.
Earlier in the afternoon, Minister Billson will be officially opening the Tahmoor Post Office.
“Bruce Billson is keen to hear how the Budget initiatives for small business have been received by businesses in the area.
“From what we understand, the instant asset write offs and tax deductions announced in the Budget are having an immediate positive impact on small businesses. I am someone who has always believed in the power of small businesses to create jobs, to invest and to support our prosperity.”
Mr Taylor said the government's Growing Jobs and Small Businesses package was about workable, practical measures.
“Included is a tax cut of 1.5 per cent for incorporated small businesses with annual turnover of up to $2 million, while unincorporated small businesses will get a five per cent tax discount of up to a $1,000 a year. What is having an immediate impact is that small businesses can now claim a tax deduction for each and every asset purchase up to $20,000.”
Mr Taylor encouraged any businesses with feedback for the Minister to attend the forum.
“This is a great opportunity to provide input directly to Federal Cabinet. For further information on the community forum please contact my Goulburn electorate office on (02) 4822 2277.”
