Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has announced an upgrade of ADSL services for several areas in Goulburn including Bradfordville, Crestwood and Run-O-Waters.

Mr Taylor met with Telstra area management this week to discuss local internet services, one of the key concerns for residents in a number of suburbs.

“Telecommunications issues are the single greatest problem raised with me and I’m pleased to announce plans are underway at Telstra for an upgrade of ADSL services in parts of Goulburn. These upgrades will markedly improve internet availability and are expected to be complete by July this year.”

Mr Taylor said Telstra would increase port capacity in parts of Bradfordville, Crestwood and Run-O-Waters, allowing new customers within transmission lengths to connect to an ADSL service. “I am well aware these upgrades don’t yet include Bradfordville Industrial Estate but I will keep on Telstra about that location.” 

Telstra said the upgrades were in addition to an upgrade of more than 300 ports in the Goulburn Exchange in April this year, allowing new customers to connect to fast broadband.

“We have been working closely with Angus Taylor’s office to address the issues he has raised on behalf of local residents,” Telstra Area General Manager Chris Taylor said.

“Over the past four months we have completed a number of infrastructure upgrade projects that have provided new opportunities for residents to access ADSL services, with increased download speeds to enhance the customer experience for those residents who already have access to the service.

“There is still more work to be done in areas such as Bradfordville and Crestwood. We will continue to work with Angus and our customers to provide them with the best services possible.”
