Saluting Their Service grants commemorate military heroes
Wingello Village Association and Goulburn Mulwaree Council are set to receive a funding boost under the Federal Government’s Saluting Their Service grants program.
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has announced that Goulburn Mulwaree Council will receive $3,000 to install lighting at the Rocky Hill War Memorial. Wingello Village Association will also receive $1,050 to construct an honour board at the village hall to commemorate local service personnel who served in the Second World War.
“These memorial projects show just how proud local community groups, councils and ex-service organisations are of our military history and this program allows the community to commemorate military service in the region in a respectful way,” Mr Taylor said.
“Congratulations to the Goulburn and Wingello communities, the memory of our brave servicemen and women will live on through these projects.”
Community groups and ex-service organisations interested in applying for the next round of the Saluting Their Service program can do so by visiting communitygrants.gov.au.
Applications close 6 November, 2019.
