Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has announced Stockinbingal will receive fixed wireless fast broadband in the next 12 months.

“Fast broadband is on its way to Cootamundra Shire with the first fixed wireless tower for the shire to go up at Stockinbingal,” Mr Taylor said.

He said the NBN (National Broadband Network) tower was expected to provide fast broadband for 180 premises in the village and surrounding area.

Mr Taylor said the latest update on the NBN rollout was that Hume would receive fast broadband to 27,470 premises in the next 18 months. He said the average rollout per electorate was 4000 premises, so Hume was doing very well.

“I am delighted that the strong messages we have taken to the Minister have been heard loudly and clearly.”

“I will continue to push hard for Cootamundra and surrounds to be prioritised in coming months and it is great news the rollout is now underway.”
