Funding now available to support small community projects
Expressions of interest are now open for Round 7 of the Stronger Communities Programme, giving local councils and community groups an opportunity to nominate projects for grants of up to $20,000.
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor said more funding for the region would deliver the infrastructure and equipment our communities need to be successful and grow.
“This latest funding injection will support up to 20 projects across the electorate, supporting jobs and delivering an economic boost to drive our recovery on the other side of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m aware of a number of different projects being planned across the Hume electorate that would benefit from this type of funding,” he said.
“I will be working closely again with a community consultative committee, and we’re especially keen on projects that deliver a strong social benefit, such as projects by sporting and recreation clubs, community groups and volunteer emergency services.
“I strongly encourage interested organisations to complete an expression of interest form. This can be found on my website www.angustaylor.com.au or collected from my electorate offices.
Expression of interest forms must be returned by Friday, 29th November 2021.
Through the Stronger Communities Program, the Government has provided more than $135 million for community-building and job-creating projects across Australia.
